It Has Been Way Too Long....

Mercy, time goes by way to fast. Lots has gone on since our last visit. We have lost two 4-legged friends in as many weeks. One, our Jesse, to congestive heart failure, and Mocha, to cancer. It is always so hard to let them go...yet harder to see them suffer. I will have to find a picture of our Jesse (Mocha was my mom and dad's) and let you see her sweetness.

Jesse is the yellow girl...Jubal is the chocolate and Shoeless is the little guy.

As of yesterday, all is decorated for CHRISTMAS...and yes, it is CHRISTMAS. No, we do not know the exact day of Christ's birth, but how wonderful to have a day we can acknowledge His birth. Our family has come from ministers way back, so the CHRISTMAS STORY is read each year. Since we have had grandchildren in the family, my father has dressed as many characters to relay the story...from Simon Peter, to a lumberjack cutting down the three trees (one for the manger, one for the boat that Jesus crossed in, and one His cross) and even a shepherd who was visited by the angels. What a wonderful evening, and wonderful memories had by all. Our family ranges from 80 years to 5 years...and lots of numbers in between. Our families will all come together again, except for our oldest...he and his wife have chosen to celebrate CHRISTMAS as a little family...making their traditions. Those will be passed down to their boys...and that is how it should be.
I am going to post some pix of our home and its decorations...hope you enjoy.
This is our chocolate, Jubal and Shoeless...the little black in the picture above!

My Stationary Signature Art

I have had a blast drawing and creating small pieces for my email signature. My signature is all my own, I love that! You see, I can add most anything I want, even scripture. How fun is that?

I am suppose to have a piece of art ready for an auction, but I am stumped as to what to paint. Should I do something fallish, Christmas-sy, winterish? Maybe just a jar with flowers in it? This is a hard decision!
Guess that this blog is more about what I have enjoyed doing lately (Oh, I need to publish some pictures of the bridge I built last weekend!) , what I need to do, what should I do. It is good to just "sound off"...but if you have any ideas, please share!

Meet you here later!

Creative pumpkin carving!

What a fun evening for my daughter's 20th birthday! She wanted everyone to have a pumpkin to carve. It is funny how those pumpkins took on the personality of the creator! The little ones had pieces that they could stick in their  pumpkin like Mr. Potato Head...cept this was Witchy Pumpkin and Princess Pumpkin! My daddy is very tall, his pumpkin is very tall and the nose is very much like his. It was a fun evening!
For her birthday my Sage made her own cheesecake! It was scrumptious!!!! There was also homemade chocolate cake with chocolate icing with candy corn and candy pumpkins...made by my niece. Sage did all the good...Taylor Swift tickets, a hundred pairs of socks, $, an angel bear inside a gorgeous "Keeper" box, and many other fun things. Happy Birthday, again, Bubs!

Don't be a stranger, meet me here another day!

P.S. Had a very interesting piece of mail the other day...an anonymous letter. The person who sent it had, for some reason, felt the need to policed my fb. I mean, this person typed the letter, printed the letter, (did not fold it very well when it putting it in the envelope) created a label for my address, stuck a stamp on it and mailed it. Really? Either too much time on their hands, or they just needed to yell at someone!
This anonymous person decided to tell me how I should have responded to my 23 years old son's "hack" post on my FB page, "You should have immediately deleted it and apologized to your sweet friends". Really? My friends are just fine with my FB or they are not my friends.
This person felt the need to share that I had not done a very good job teaching my children respect and honor. MY children do respect and honor their dad and me...if there is a problem we talk about it, we laugh together, we become flexible when needed...we love unconditionally.
This person also decided to tell me that my desire to share scriptures that mean something to me must not be real in my life. Really? I believe that God lays scriptures on our hearts to be shared. Not that what iI got out of them is the only interruption...it is mine.
Honestly, the person did not know me well enough to know the humor that my children and i share may be a bit bizarre, but it is ours and we love each other and laugh with each other.
This person did know me well enough to know that most of the comments were from my family...even though they do not have my last name. They also knew me well enough to have my address...it is not on FB. All in all, the letter was a bust if it was to deter my family's humor...in fact, I think it made me want to post more of it!
I have to admit that I had someone in mind as to who sent it, I probably should apologize to that person. as I made that decision not based on concrete evidence. So, no matter who it is , who it was, it did not do anything except to allow my family to become CSI detectives! Everyone wants a chance at figuring it out! WE are being creative!
Next time you get an anonymous letter, have fun with it! Try to figure out who it was. Look at every word, do they use one word really often? Is it written in the way someone you know talks? If they use spell check, that is not fair. :-)
See you soon!

20 years in the making....truly a creativity in a life

Twenty years ago today my husband, John, and I were blessed with the most pleasant surprise...a beautiful baby girl. We both expected a boy, there were already two. Not only did this miracle come as a girl, but one with orange hair and blue eyes. As I looked at her fingers and toes and everything in between, I noticed a little red dot on her little finger. It is still there today! She has and continues to bring us such joy and laughter.
Our daughter's name is Kathryn Sage. One friend has accused me of  naming her after someone in both of our lives...but truly it is the way looks written in long hand. You see, the 'y' in Kathryn looks wonderful with the 'g' in Sage. We call her Sage...her dad loves to call her Kate. She could be either.
Sage watched her big brother play baseball and started on an all boy team the spring of her first grade year. She played until she was 13. Every new coach Sage had to prove herself, it didn't take but a game or two and they were sold. The boys took care of her...she was a catcher and was nailed by a bat now and again. Those boys made a b-line to me or her dad for ice. In Jr. High she began basketball and volleyball. I would ask about softball, NEVER would be the answer. But, her brother's girlfriend at the time Sage went to high school got her into softball. She began as a catcher and became THE catcher. She also played basketball. Both were her favorite while playing them. She lettered in both all four years.
Now the child is in college...she hasn't found her niche, but she will. She has ideas. I am excited to see where her ideas take her...take us.
Her daddy and I know we have been blessed by God to be given the chance to be her dad and mom on earth. As I pray for her, my Heavenly Father keeps telling me, "She is My child." Yes, she is and for that I am most thankful.

A wild and crazy week!

As a teacher, this week has been our first week back. I was planning to show pictures of my completed, fun and colorful room. But, alas, due to meetings and a very sick brother-in-law...not all was according to my plan. SOMEONE greater than me had HIS  plan.
Today it is the day for new carpet...never knew how much "stuff" has to be moved. This would be a great time to get rid of the old! Purging is what some friends say. But, I know me and I know I will look at it and think, "I can do this with that or wouldn't that be great...". Yeah, not good at purging...though I am sure the little men would like nothing better. Could I leave for a week and Frank come and do my house up? Now that would be great!
Please come back around the corner...hopefully I will have been a bit more creative!

A New Day in a Life of Creativity!

Today has been a fun day in my life of creativity! This blog is one, and probably the most fun of my creative adventures. (I also helped my beautiful kid "fix" her pig's new home...not the most fun.) I have a precious friend who has helped me with this adventure. Thank you Shanna! For me there is always room for improvement...so I am sure that this page will change.
My plan for this blog is to share my life of creativity...whether at home or at school. I am hoping to add pictures of what is going on...whether at home or at school. It is going to be just a fun place to "talk". Come join me!
